I meant to post these right after I took them in the end of September, but then got busy with a bunch of things and suddenly I’ve put this off for almost a month.
Now that it’s nearing the end of October, the photos I took on this hike turned out to be the last one in summer of this year.
I went out with my Fujifilm X-E1 paired with the old (not WR) 27mm lens, and used a film simulation that was more exposed, which aided in the overall summer effect. It was actually a pretty hot day when I went out with a couple of friends on this particular hike.

It was a pretty steep hike, and we took the direction with the most incline going up. Most people on this trail took the other way around, so it was more down slopes for them and we ran into almost no one going the same way we were going. Like Mission Peak, it was pretty dusty, but the view was much more interesting.

Overall, I really enjoyed testing the X-E1 for this hike, as it was much smaller and lighter than my X-T3. The hike itself was nice, but I maybe not nice enough I’d be willing to come again. The dirt was not ideal for my shoes, and I didn’t enjoy how dangerously slippery some of the downward path turned out. All of us at some point slid on the dusty gravel.

This is a pretty long hike, and finishing the loop back down to the starting point took a few hours. We returned to our car and tapped all of our shoes free as much as possible from all the dirt and went back to town to cool off in the mall.

I had a photo outing last weekend, where I specifically went to a location to shoot portraits of friends. I won’t be posting those here, but I will post the non-portrait photos from that day on my next post. Hopefully I can find the time to go through all those photos by early November.
